WELCOME TO OUR HABITAT IN COONOOR Lamb's Rock is an eco-sensitive and all-inclusive resort buit in Coonoor,which is a gateway to nature. Lamb's Rock located in the Nilgiris, skirting the natural rain forest on side.Lamb's rock is an excellent picnic spot near Coonoor which is 6 Kms away from the Coonoor Railway station. It is a point on the way to Dolphin's Nose. It was named after the man Captain Lamb who tried in earnest to open a path to that particular point.

  • Reaching Lambs Rock is a very easy affair. Coonoor town is well connected by road and rail.
  • The southern approach is via Coimbatore - Mettupalayam - Coonoor for tourists from Chennai, Cochin, etc.,
  • The northern approach is via Ooty - Coonoor for tourists from Bangalore, Mysore, Calicut etc., either way it is a memorable drive. We are located 6 klms from the Coonoor railway station

  • The century old heritage railway station at Coonoor is located on the nilgiri mountain railway route between Ooty and metupalayam. The heritage Nilgiri mountain railway (Toy train) journey from mettupalayam to Coonoor is yet a memorable experience to be cherished. The train passes through tunnels, tall girder bridges, forest clad hills, and the breathtaking views are not to be forgotten easily.
  • Several passenger trains are connected to the rest of India from mettupalayam and Coimbatore railway stations.

  • Coonoor town is connected to other towns and cities within Tamilnadu, parts of Kerala and Karnataka with regular bus services, and private travel/ tour bus/ cab/ van operators.

  • The nearest airport is at Coimbatore with a good network of domestic flights to other cities. The distance to Coimbatore is 80 klms and the drive from Coimbatore to Coonoor takes about one and half to two hours.
  • The other towns of Nilgiris namely Ooty, and Kotagiri are 18 kms apart about half an hours drive. Local transport within and around Coonoor is easily available in the form of buses, cabs, autos.

The rock is a jagged cliff that drops down several hundred feet to the lush jungle below. On the right hand is the Hulical ravine. It is possible to see the Coonoor stream some 5000 feet below. This vantage point also provides you with an excellent view of the Coimbatore plains, and the verdant tea gardens on the other Lambs Rock is the perfect place to enjoy and explore. We offer accommodation in country style cottages with sprawling private verandahs that afford spectacular views of receding mountains and tropical jungles. The rooms have been styled individually to cater to different requirements
